Current job Q&A

Describe the type of organization you work for.
I work in a high end still life product photography studio. There are three full time employees and several freelance workers.

Describe your job role and responsibilities.
I retouch and manage the postproduction process (including file handling and delivery to client). I make prints when required, assist with the shooting process when necessary and also make sure all of the technology in the studio is working and regularly upgraded. If anything computer related breaks, I fix it.

Please list an additional benefits (beyond compensation) that you receive.
2 weeks paid vacation.

Do you feel you are under/over or well/fairly compensated at your current position?
I feel decently compensated.

Does your job entail you working with others on a daily basis? Is this something you like/dislike about your job? Please explain.
I work very closely with the photographer, studio manager, and assistants. We are a small studio and each person must know what is going on in the whole studio. As the retoucher, I need to know what job is being shot and processed and I need to also be in contact with the photographer and assistants about how certain shots need to be comped and otherwise treated. The photographer needs to approve every step of the process and the studio manager needs to make sure everyone is on time and send the work to the client.

Do you work collaboratively with supervisors/managers?
Yes

Do you work collaboratively with your co-workers?
Yes

Describe your work location (e.g., office, home, theatre, in the field) and what you like/dislike about working in it.
