Describe the type of organization you work for.
I work for a company of long term care facilities. We have some facilities that are dedicated to providing care to the elderly and some to the alzheimers.

Describe your job role and responsibilities.
I am there to help with the residents needs. Whether it be bathing, feeding, or just someone to talk to.

I feel very comfortable in what I make

I work very closely with my supervisors, co-workers. I really like some of the people that I work with. But some of them are only there for a paycheck and that really bothers me.

I work in a long term care facility. I love that I am able to take care of people. But I hate that we dont have enough time to really be able to sit down with them and really get to know them.

A day in the life of…

Please describe a typical workday for you in your current job:

5am to 6am
6am to 7am
7am to 8am Go and start getting residents up and dressed for breakfast. Get all residents to dining room and get them feed.
8am to 9am Get some of the residents layed down that want to take a nap before lunch. Take the others to the activity room.
9am to 10am Start giving my showers that I need to get for the day. Passs out fresh ice and water
10am to 11am Start getting my residents ready for lunch and their afternoon activities.
11am to 12pm Get residents to dining room and pass out tryas, get them feed.
12pm to 1pm Take residents to activities that are planned for the day. Pass out fresh ice and water.
1pm to 2pm Get all of my residents layed down before I go home so they can rest before they are gotten up on the next shift for dinner. Do all of my bookkeeping. And do rounds with the next shift.
2pm to 3pm Go clock out and go home at about 2:00-2:15

To take the CNA classes that are offered and really pay atention in them.

yes cause you are always learning new things

Learn everything that you can and try not to let the death of the residents really get to you or you ownt be able to function at your job.
