Do you feel you are under/over or well/fairly compensated at your current position?
i do feel like that somewhat..would be nice to make a little bit more money or constantly get higher raises.

Does your job entail you working with others on a daily basis? Is this something you like/dislike about your job? Please explain.
As the pharmacy, I am always working with my fellow associate and customers, while I work at Kohls I usually work by myself or with fellow associates while the store is closed so dont work with customers at that time. I sometimes do not like when it is very busy and with are not staffed with enough people where it does not allow us to run frantically in the pharmacy. As for Kohls, I really just dont like the way they treat people on a daily basis and overall.

Do you work collaboratively with supervisors/managers?
Yes

Do you work collaboratively with your co-workers?
Yes

Describe your work location (e.g., office, home, theatre, in the field) and what you like/dislike about working in it.
CVS pharmacy is a retail pharmacy located not too far from a major university. I love working in this area as most of the customers are very nice althought you do get some snooty customers. Kohls- major retailer, I simply dont like working for this company much becaouse of the issues experience in present and past.

How you got your job

How did you get your current job?
I saw a posting outside on the store door for the pharmacy and I find out about kohls hiring by searching websites online.

What was the application process?
I did an electronic application for both places but had to into place to do paper application, interview, and an assessment. I also had to be tested for drugs for kohls but not for cvs pharmacy

Did you have to interview for your current job? If yes, what did the interview process entail?
Yes, I was interviewed for both places. As cvs pharmacy the interview happened one time and then I was told I would be called back by the store manager. At Kohls, there was one interview and was hired on the spot with the condition of drug test going alright.

If you can remember, what questions were you asked during the interview?
What are your best qualities? Why do you want to work here? What can you do for our company? What would you last employer say about you?

Do you feel your employer properly prepared you for your job? Explain.
Yes, as I was always working with people that could help me by answering my questions and always made sure I was alright.

Was there training for your current position? If yes, what did it entail?
I already had alot of experience from past jobs in customer service as well as cash register experience. I was trained by working with the photo supervisor on how to use the register, answer the phone, assisting customers, calling for additional help and etc. I also had to complete a handbook that involved me reading and answering question before I began training with my fellow coworker.

Do you feel your educational background prepared you for your job? Explain.
Yes, as I know how to interact with people and I am usually ready for anything that may happen at a moment’s notice.

If applicable, do you feel your internship experience helped you prepare for your job?
I have no internship experience

If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
As for both places, I would suggest that you are very polite, friendly, and appear to have a high energy level as it seems to appeal to the managers very much. It is also good if you have a good amount of availability whether it is open or about four days a week.

What skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a position like yours?
In order to have the position I have you have to be able to communication very well, have to work at a fast pace, have to be very organized, be able to learn whatever it may be fast, and always ask if you need help or are not such about what to do or what something is and etc.

Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?
No, prior retail experience is always good but you can always start off here and get your foot in the door

What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Be openminded to the fast that you are going to have to work hard if you want to get into a management position within these companies. There will be many employees that you work with so there is much room for competition. You have to have patience and the will to work with the company and be open to seeing where it goes.

Long-term career plans

Is your current employment part of your overall career plan? Why or why not?
NO, I WANTED TO WORK IN SOCIAL SERVICES OR PSYCHOLOGY FIELD BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING IN THAT ARENA. SO FOR THE PASS FEW YEARS I HAVE BEEN GETTING BY AND DOING THIS IN THE MEAN TIME.

What are your current career goals?
I HONESTLY ALWAYS JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO HELP OTHERS AS THAT IS WHAT MOSTLY DEEPLY FULFILLS ME AND HAS BEEN MY ULTIMATE MOTTO. THAT IS WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY TO SEE …TO SEE PEOPLE ARE OK AND SMILING.

Is there anything else you would like to share about your career?
I REALLY DONT WANNA DO RETAIL FOREVER BUT IF I FIND A COMPANY THAT IS TOTALLY GOOD FOR ME AND WILL ALLOW ME TO MOVE AS I WANT AND PROMOTE AS I SHOULD BE THEN I WILL ULTIMATELY BE THE MOST HAPPY I CAN BE.
