Describe the type of organization you work for.
I work for a company that books celebrity interviews for radio stations around the country. You may call us “Talent Bookers.” I am also a radio producer for various radio programs. I work on the air (on the radio) and behind the scenes in production.

Describe your job role and responsibilities.
I contact and book various celebrities for radio interviews. I spend most of my day corrasponting with publicists, managers, and the like. In the mornings I usually run radio interviews with those talents and the radio stations I work with around the country. Throughout most of the day I am search for celebrities and learning of new projects they want to promote which perhaps they would want to get on the radio and discuss.

A day in the life of…

Please describe a typical workday for you in your current job:

5am to 6am
6am to 7am
7am to 8am take train to work, get to work at 7:45 and check email and phone messages
8am to 9am conduct radio tour with celebrity. Dial each radio station and give them heads up calls when there interview is 5 minutes away. Stay on teh phone the entire hour running the interviews.
9am to 10am Finish call and hang up. Send email recap of the tours to my bosses and thank yous to the publicists I worked with for the celebrity. Check email again. Get coffee.
10am to 11am Google what celebrities have new projects they are working on and find their contact info all online. send emails to pitch having them on the air with stations
11am to 12pm continue pitching and searching
12pm to 1pm lunch
1pm to 2pm make bios for upcoming celebrity interviews to send to stations who may want to talk to that celebrity
2pm to 3pm google search again
3pm to 4pm google
4pm to 5pm google
5pm to 6pm take the train home!

Yeah, there wants much they needed to explain as I knew what I had to do.

Its a very hard line of work to break into. There are limited jobs and most are locatd in NYC or LA

It is but i need to work more hours and make more money

I would like to be a radio producer for a major morning show that is syndicated all over the country so I can do what I love and have tons of money making opportunities.

I wish there were more jobs in my industry as right now they are pretty scarce and I wish I had more of a selection.
