A day in the life of…

Please describe a typical workday for you in your current job:

5am to 6am
6am to 7am
7am to 8am start work later unless there is a call from a client or special occassion.
8am to 9am Check my emails and respond to brief emails. Those requiring longer responses are pushed off until later.
9am to 10am return and phone calls or follow up with clients. After that I make calls to prospective clients or those who I have not spoken too in over a month. If there is remaining time I will begin doing real estate searches.
10am to 11am Respond to the longer text messages and emails that require information. Schedule appointments to see houses for clients. Contact any other related parties to a transaction such as a title company or another agent.
11am to 12pm Meet with new clients or go look at houses with existing clients, conduct home inspections or go on site visits. This same activity will last for several hours as I try and accumulate the same out of office activities during the middle of the day. therefore, if i finish with one client, i will go right to the meeting with the next client. I usually schedule meeting over lunch or at a coffee house/shop.
12pm to 1pm Continuation of the previous hours activities. This will include activities such as reviewing a contract with a client, making changes to an existing contract (counter offer or new offer), writing an offer for submission to another seller, or visititng houses on a list previously provided to a buyer.
1pm to 2pm see the activities listed in the two hours above. typically these activities have me out of the office for 3-4 hours.
2pm to 3pm return back to the office unless it is a busy day. then it would be more of the same activities listed above. Otherwise, I return to the offfice and check email and telephone messages.
3pm to 4pm conduct additional searches on the mutiple list serve for clients. prepare listings or send out requests for information from other agents. correspond with clients and return emails that have come in.
4pm to 5pm reserve this hour for closings out of the office, late showings with clients that are only available at the end of the work day, or discussing matters with clients or vendors regarding activities from earlier in the day such as results drom a home inspections etc.
5pm to 6pm work on marketing and sales work to be sent out. read or research real estate related issues in the newspaper or industry journal. Attend to administrative matters.
6pm to 7pm if available, attend a networking type activity.
7pm to 8pm
8pm to 9pm
