Describe the type of organization you work for.
I work for the public school system. It is a large organization with thousands of employees, including teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, custodial/janitorial staff, library staff, etc.

Describe your job role and responsibilities.
I am responsible for teaching four classes per day with approximately 25-30 students in each course. I am responsible for creating lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum designed by the department and district. I am responsible for providing feedback and grading all of my students’ work. I am responsible for monitoring student attendance and contacting parents when we see lapses in student attendance.

I receive 15 sick days per year, which roll over, 4 personal days, which also roll over, the ability to choose a variety of health plans at differnet costs, a retirement plan, and a pension.

Yes, that is one of my favorite parts of the job. I work mostly with students, but also with other teachers and administrators. I probably speak with parents on a weekly, not daily, basis.
