Describe the type of organization you work for.
I work as a science teacher at a magnet school. Consisting of only 150 students, it is a opportunity for students who are interested to excel in high school.

Describe your job role and responsibilities.
As a physics science teacher and a higher-math teacher, i am expect to prepare and teach my students the course. All information they must know is already given to me, i am supposed to create inventive way of insuring the maximum retention of this information.

get up to 3 weeks of vacation. If necesssary, up to a month of sick leave. Get basic health insurance, covers any major problems.

I work with my students and various other teachers everyday. Also, i am constantly interacting with the principle.

A day in the life of…

Please describe a typical workday for you in your current job:

5am to 6am
6am to 7am
7am to 8am Am at school by 7:00 am. I prepare and set up for my class which starts at 7:40. I teach from 7:40 to 9:20 am. take a break at 8:20.
8am to 9am Class ends at 9:20. then I have my “focus” group. I announce a few announcements and then the students have study hall. I record grades or i correct papers.
9am to 10am Focus ends at 10:15 am. Then i have a free block where i edit more papers.
10am to 11am at 11:50 my free period ends. Now i have lunch till 12:40.
11am to 12pm 12:40 lunch ends.
12pm to 1pm I teach starting 12:50 to 2:10. it is my Math class.
1pm to 2pm Class ends at 2:10.
2pm to 3pm Class ends at 2:10. Go home around 3 or sometimes 4.
3pm to 4pm At home, relaxing.
4pm to 5pm Grading papers, creating next day’s planner.
5pm to 6pm Grading papers, creating next day’s planner.
6pm to 7pm Grading papers, creating next day’s planner.
7pm to 8pm Dinner.
8pm to 9pm Bed
9pm to 10pm Bed

Yes usually one. And usually it is you and either the principle, or principle and vice principle.

the interview process varies from principle from principle and specific job to job. In mine, they wanted to know how i would be bringing something special and above the average expected rate to the school.

yes, being a student teacher is highly enlightening. however, the actual classes are somewhat useless.

4 years of college after high school. Student teacher.

yes. I was always interested in science and math. It helps to know what you are teaching.

it is THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT of the entire process

If you want money, no. If you want a satisfaction that you are doing something good and important, yes.

Organizational, speaking, humors ability(you will be made a little fun of my students), ability to awake the dead(near mid terms…)

yes, atleast a college level

good luck! and remember, you should create a friendly atmosphere, but not have any “teacher’s pet”
