3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours?

  • If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?

    Go to nursing school. Spend a few years in the field and make contacts with lawyers and other nurse consultants. Depending on the lawyer you collaborate with you may need, and in most cases will need, to pursue your education to finish a masters in law.

  • What skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social skills, organization skills, technical skills)

    Outspoken, Critical, Social Skills, Organizational skills, Good reading comprehension, good speech skills

    Friend referred me.

    The lawyer reviewed my work and asked references about my character and work.

    No.

    No

    I started as a nurse, became a nursing instructor and met people who were nursing consultants and they introduced me to their employers.

    No.

    Yes. There wasn't much preparing necessary.

    Definitely. I had a Bachelors in Nursing already and was finishing my law degree when I was hired.

6. The Future and Beyond (FINAL SECTION)

    Being able to review cases.

    Helping families or clients who have been wronged, or setting the facts straight.

    To retire in less than 5 years and move to Montana.
  • Is there anything else you would like to share about your career?

    It is a very fulfilling career and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of this type of career. Just be prepared to do a lot of travel.

    Had a conference call with the lawyer at 8:30. Have to re-review certain part of the case.

    Ate breakfast. Continued reviewing files.

    Reviewing files (cont.).

    Called the lawyer with question about the case.

    Ate breakfast. Continued reviewing files.
