Our laboratory's focus is on pancreatic cancer, and we are currently investigating the predisposing role diabetes plays in this particular type of cancer. We are also investigating new research methodologies as to how to approach further laboratory research on this particular disease. As a research assistant in this position, I collect blood, malignant cancer samples, and non-tumor serum samples from patients, amplify DNA and RNA from these samples, and perform other basic laboratory duties that can easily be learned quickly.

I work as a post doctoral fellow. Iam considered as a staff of JHU. I do full term research in Chemistry under the guidence of the Proffessor. My duties include working on the current research and do the things my boss asks me to do and also practice my own research. My responsiblities include taking care of the instruments, ordering and purchasing chemicals and glasswares for the lab.

Responsible for using Surface Plasmon Resonance (Biacore) to screen antibodies for various properties. Present findings at meetings and assist in decision making for identifying lead candidates to be filed as investigative new drugs.

As a research scientist I am responsible for developing interesting hypotheses regarding the role of bacteria in the human gut, designing experiments to test those hypotheses, and compiling my data and conclusions for publication.

carry out scientific research in my laboratory. I design and conduct experiments. I also mentor graduate students and help out other in the department. I also help with the day to day running of the laboratory such as ordering supply, meeting, etc.
