I am responsible for all legislation referred to the Joint Committee on Transportation (bills filed in both the House and Senate). I schedule and hold hearings on these bills, collect testimony, author press releases, send emails, arrange press conferences and press events, attend meetings, answer questions, and track transportation budget line items.

Respond to requests for information from press, elected officials, lobbyists, constituents, coworkers. Prepare fact sheets, write bill summaries on legislation before the committee, compile testimony on bills.

I create transgenic mice via DNA microinjection into mouse embryoes for genetics research in attempts to find developmentally important genes. My research involves looking at evolutionarily conserved regions of DNA and testing them to see if they are important. Most of my research involves cardiac, brain and limb development.

I process the full range of duties, processing claims for government benefits, explaining provisions of law and rendering determinations based on law. I am also the lead in this position so I provide technical support to my co-workers and handle the complex cases. I also provide training and mentoring to new employees.

I approve/disapprove State funding applications for child welfare programs. I monitor State program activities. I participate in on-site reviews and audits. I review program annual reports. I approve/disapprove State requests for technical assistance from our National Resource Centers.

I teach vocational training programs to mentally retarded adults. I aid mentally retarded adults in learning vocational skills and working skills and aid in finding the individuals in finding employment.
