If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
Obtain a Master's degree in Information Science, and work part-time in an internship position while in college to gain experience.

skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
Technical skills and organization skills are important in this position. Social and communication skills are equally as important since you are serving customers on a daily basis. Analytical skills are also necessary, particularly if the job is more research than reference based.

Yes, a Master's degree at a minimum

What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Talk to people in the field, conduct informational interviews in a variety of different areas. There are a lot of different types of positions you can work at with this degree, so it would be helpful to talk to a number of different librarians.
