School district of Philadelphia, headstart program. I am a head teacher, which means i do the paper work for 2 classrooms as well as teach.

Teaching 3-5 year olds and preparing them for kindergarten. I also prep the classroom, tidy up and all other general housekeeping type duties. i interect and advise parents and do the general paperwork for both classes in our center and work as a liasion for our center to the head offices.

Complete a bachlor's degree in education and apply to a public school district that incorperates the headstart program

Patience, understanding, empathy, love of children and all around creativity. organization ia also extremely helpful.

  Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?

you bet!

  What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?

Make sure you like to work with the younger children and have alot of patience and understanding. Ask yourself why exactly you want to do this job - if money id a factor, move along. You'll never get rich teaching!
