I work in a Chiropractors office, we have about 25 people that work for this one office. We also have a Physical Therepy section, we offer full body massages with licensed massues.

I make phone calls to verify insurnace benefits, also call insurnace companies if there is a discrepency in payment, I am in charge of Accounts payableand recievable, I post payments from inusrancecompanies into patient accounts take x rays, answer phones

I work with at least 5 other people everyday, sometimes they switch days but there is no one I like more or less. Its a job, your there to work not make friends.

a medical office, the only thing that I dont like is how old the building is and the decor could be updated

3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours?

  If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?

Take a course somewhere that offers it. There are alot of places that do, you really only need to take at least a 6 month course, but other places offer longer. Get a certificate from that course and you can pretty much go to any hospital, doctors office anywhere there is medical proffesionals. There is a difference though with the dental insurance.

  What skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social skills, organization skills, technical skills)

I am very detail oriented. That is very important. You need great organizational skills also, another important one is the ability to sound strong over the phone.

  Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?

The only two things you need for this position is a high school diploma and a certification in medical inusrance billing

  What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?

Make sure you love your job, no matter what it is and you will be happy and always have money.
