I work for an Israel program for your adults. I am the only full time staff member for this program in the US, but I work within a larger Jewish youth movement with 30 or so employees in New York and a hundred or so around the US.

If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
Go to www.jewishjobs.com, or www.jewishservice.org. Also, it is hard to get a job in Israel programs if you haven't been to ISrael... So go there!

What
skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
People skills is key. I'm on the phone and emailing all the time. Friendliness, ability to judge how to talk to different people, whether they be applicants or executives of large organizations. Good organization is good too, and self-motivation. Willingness to work more than the stated 9-5 hours.

What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Get to know your co-workers. Reach out to people in similar positions in other organizations. Don't expect to go home at 5:30.
