Call on hospital-based phyicians, director and CEO level of hospital administration, materials management, bio-medical department, pharmacy. Detail anesthetic agents and negotiate contracts with key personnel to secure market position. Maintain and develop relationships with targeted departments and clients.

Very difficult to get into this field....especially in today's enviornment. Knowing someone in the industry is critical. Also, hard-core sales experience can help

  What skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social skills, organization skills, technical skills)

Must have good communication skills and know business and social etiquitte...sp? Organization is key to managing client/territory base. Techincal knowledge can be important in situations when dealing directly with clinicians and educating them on your product.

  Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?

Bachelors degree is required.

  What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?

First impressions are important. Work smart, not hard.
