you like/dislike about working in it
I work out of two different locations. Mainly I work in our computer center, which is an office environment that is fairly open. We have cubes, but they do not have all of the walls so we are working in the open basically. However, this helps when we are working together. The other location is at our headquarters, which I take a shuttle to from the other location. This is working mainly with our customers, and this location I have a more quiet cube area.

3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours? |
If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
Someone who would like a job similar to mine should obtain a bachelor's degree in information technology. A master's degree helps, but is not required. While in school, they should get an internship.
What
skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
Organization skills are required for my job since I am working on many projects at the same time. Technical skills are required, such as programming languages and knowledge of databases and design. A great deal of logic is required to be able to figure out problems. In addition, social skills are necessary to be able to communicate with a customer and get requirements.
Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?
At least a bachelor's degree is necessary for a programmer's job.
What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Find out if programming is something that you truly like to do. You need to truly enjoy it to be able to be committed to learning new languages and figuring out complex problems. Try an internship to see if you like this type of work, because there is more to developing than just programming.
