3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours? |
|
If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
Well, they would have to get their teaching certification first. This also requires becoming "highly" qualified in a specific teaching area- special education, etc... Then I would recommend becoming a substitute teaching in order to get to know which school you want to with at. Lastly, then you just need to start interviewing.

skills, organization skills, technical skills)
If someone wants to become a special education teacher then they need to be able to work with kids, be patient, be able to attend ARD meetings all the time.

Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?
Yes- a bachelor's degree is required.

What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Be patient with your job search- principals hire at the last minute and are very busy people!
