I work for the US Postal Service in the Clinton, WA post office where we employ 12 employees; some full time and some part time flex.

I sort mail that is distributed to me in large trays, I put each letter/magazine/catalog in delivery order in a segmented address case.Then the mail is collected from the case, bundled into route ordered bundles and put in my delivery vehicle. I also have packages to assess and put in route delivery order.Then I spend 1.5 hours delivering the mail from my car into rural route mailboxes.

yes, I work in an open office environment with the rest of the employees in our office. most of the time it is a companionable arrangement, however our office is small so bad moods can be passed on easily amongst workers; but so can good moods!

We have to be collaborative in that we pass off mail to each other and our work space being so small requires us to cooperate with each other to avoid confrontations in that regard

Go and get an application at a post office you are interested in and then take the Civil Service test

The ability to stand for an extended length of time, a good memory for names and numbers, a strong liking for order and symetry, and abilty to manage their time,.
