3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours? |

If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
A doctoral level degree is required for entry level practitioners in my field. A love of working with people is required, ask around to local audiology practices to "shadow" to determine if it is the right field to enter.

Must have people skills, social skills, organization and general technical skills. Must be able to work collaboratively with referring physicians and other professionals to best manage hearing/balance issues to the specific needs of each patient.

Yes. A doctoral degree is required.

What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Don't go into this field for the money. If you are sincere about helping people, and are willing to accept a challenge, it's a good field to be in.
