If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
Must have experience though college requirements. Also, I would recommend visiting a classroom (more than just once) to see if teaching is something you're interested in.

Must have patience! Must work well with others. Must enjoy working with children and to be willing to treat them like they were your own children.

Again, find out if teaching is really for you by spending some time in the classroom. Check into volunteering at a local school. Ask friends that are teachers how they feel.
