Go in to classrooms and support inclusion special ed students in a least restrictive environment for them. I work with 6th 7th and 8th grade, mostly in History and Science. I take all of their work and rewrite or adapt it to their particular learning level or learning style. I reteach concepts and make learning enchancement materials as well as reviews for tests and quizzes.

Yes it does. I like it very much. We collaborate and a teaching team.We learn new ways of doing things from each other and share the labor to best meet the needs of the students.

Apply with the district. Talk to someone who already does the job for a clear picture of it. Visit a school to observe.

quick learner, computer skills, skills in behavior management, ability to think as your students do which allows you to design good learning materials, patient, open minded, ability to see multiple ways of doing things and solutions to problems

at least an associates degree. depends on your grade level of work

  What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?

ask lots of questions. Get a mentor in the special education department. Listen and learn everyday. Don't expect every day to be the same. Do as little for the students as possible. Instead set them up for success on their own effort. Understand each student's needs and meet them.
