This job definitely entails working with others on a daily basis. Not only do you interact with clients, but you also interact with escrow officers, lenders, title officers and other third-parties. I don't mind talking with people but I have to admit I hate sales and selling. I much prefer to let my partner do the selling and I handle the follow-up.

3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours? |
If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
If someone wanted to be a Realtor they would have to check in their individual state to see what the requirements are. In California, you have to first complete a "Real Estate Principals" course either at a community college or through a broker's training program. Then you need to provide proof of passing that class to the Department of Real Estate and then pay for and take their exam and pass.
What
skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
In order to be a Realtor you need to be: organized, sociable and be a self-starter because you are responsible for how successful you are.
Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?
Just what the state requirements are, to begin with.
What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Real estate sales is definitely a career that you will only get out what you put into it. You have to have the motivation to succeed and the willingness to keep "plugging away" at it. This is not a career for someone that takes rejection too deeply as the job is about 90% rejection, but the 10% acceptance can make it worthwhile.
