Market 202 NBC affiliate located in Zanesville, Ohio. Approximately 150 employees working around the clock 24/7. 80% of our television feeds come directly from NBC, but we do in house newscasts at 6AM,12PM,6PM, and 11PM. We also do small shows such as Town hall on Sundays. We have in house commercial production to supply local Businesses a way of advertising to potential clients and customers.

Yes. I am constantly dealing with employees and clients on a daily basis. This can become extremely aggravating when trying to tend to all other daily tasks and projects, therefore I would have to say that this is a part of the position that I dislike.

3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours? |
|
If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
First get a bachelors degree in some type of engineering field. Than apply to as many Broadcast stations that you can find. Get an internship and gain as much knowledge that you can about the industry.

skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
Technical Skills - the job demands that you be up to speed on tech skills as the whole field is slowly evolving from tube transister solid state to modular computer components. Social skills - Must have as you will be dealing with customers and clients alike, you must also get along well with other employees to make hard times smooth.

Yes. At least a Bachelors in some type of Engineerning

What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
You must have a passion for the work. Most broadcast companies do not pay well. It can require long hours and can be very stressful at time due to the linear atmosphere.
