3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours? |
If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
They would first have to go through martial arts training, I'd reccomend several styles for at least 3 years a piece. A minimum of 4 years training pretty close to full time (20-30 hours a week training)
What
skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
Must be a people person. You are selling yourself when you sign up new students. If you aren't in shape and competent in your abilities, you won't sign up the new student. Some clerical experience will come in handy if you are going to run the contracts yourself, but there are many companies that will do that for you now.
Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?
The aforementioned 4 years of martial arts training would be good. At least high school level english/math/speaking skills.
What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
It takes a lot of hard work to build up a nice school. It will probably take a while. Don't expect to make a mint teaching.
