The company I work for is a large bank and there are they have a large call center which employs customer service, fraud specialists and collection agents. The company has about 1000 + employees. There are several locations throughout the United States

My job as a fraud transaction specialist is to monitor credt card activity and place outbound calls to verify card spending activity protecting our card members from credit card fraud.

We work together as a team. If someone has the answer, they are willing to help, instead of criticize. I think this is good, because we are all out to help our customer.

call center environment- I like the fact that I am dealing with people in this environment. The environment is too closed it. Sometimes, I feel like I can't breathe.

  If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?

Go to career fairs, and also look in the classified. There is a lot of turnover for this company, so they are always hiring.

  What skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social skills, organization skills, technical skills)

A person should have good people skills, good grammar, organizational skills and good mannerisms. A person should be able to listen to what people have to say, and be able to help them solve their problems. A person should also be able to work independently with minimal supervision. A person should also be punctual and not absent a lot.

  Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?

A high school degree is necessary in addition to training to become a transaction fraud specialist

  What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?

You will deal with angry customers at times. Don't let it get to you. Agree with the customer and things will go smoothly. It is hard to talk on the phone so much, but you do get used to it.
