4 star, 200 room resort. It is a 4 season time share resort offering winter activities such as downhill skiing and tubing and summer activities such as golf and downhill mountain biking.

Supervise 3-4 front desk agents, payroll and scheduling for front desk, covering manager on duty shifts, participating in resort MOD pregram, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Yes I do have to work with others on a daily basis. This is something that I really enjoy about my job. I like making people happy and having the ability to put a smile on their face, and if I can do that for a guest of the resort, then i know i did my job.

Front Office area, and front desk for the resort. I enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of the front desk and getting to interact with the guests. I dislike the front office because of the lighting and the noise from our battery backup.

3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours?

  If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?

Do some research. If you want to get into this field I would recommend a college degree. I have a 4 year degree in resort management and I apply the skills I learned in college to things I do at work everyday. Also network yourself. use all of your possible resources to land a great job.

  What skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social skills, organization skills, technical skills)

You need to have a grasp on resort management techniques, and be able to interact with people on all levels; sometimes in good situations and other times in hostile ones. Also have the understanding that the guest is almost all the time correct. Multitasking skills would also be beneficial in this line of work.

  Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?

Yes. a degree has certainly helped me in my career development

  What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?

Grow some thick skin, and be ready to multitask. During our winter season it is a very busy place to work. This just comes with the job. Keeping a good attitude and being a har worker will pay off.
