• Recruiting. Includes posting jobs internally, preparing external advertisements and Web recruitments, pre-screening applicants for departments, interviewing candidates, preparing/negotiating offers, and maintaining affirmative action/EEO records. May also include campus recruiting trips as needed (approx. 1-2 per year). • Advise employees of Human Resource policies, procedures, and employment law as necessary. • Compile data from various resources including personnel files and the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to prepare various reports. Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons. • Prepare the annual Affirmative Action Plan, investigate and respond to any government compliance audits. • Maintain the HRIS by recording personnel changes, producing required paperwork and ensuring confidentiality. • Conduct exit interviews and employee counseling sessions as necessary. • Conduct investigations of harassment or other employee relations issues.

Office, just outside of the plant. I like being close to the actual employees doing the job. I can go out periodically and see new things going on and check on new hires to see if they are doing OK or have any questions

Do not be afraid start enrty level. The college degree helps, but you also need practical experience too--don't underestimate the entry level position.

Personable, easy to get along with, professional, patient. Must be able to multi-task and have focus. Throughout my day I am interupted.
