The Orchestra presents a series of symphonic, pops and special concerts, with a subscriber base of nearly 10,000. The Orchestra’s extensive and diverse educational and outreach program serves more than 60,000 children, youth and adults each season through free or low-cost performances in a variety of venues throughout the community.

Yes. I prefer working alone, but interaction with others is necessary in this business. I have to be available to anyone on the board of directors when they call and need something.

Get a music business degree, and intern with a non-profit similar organization.

Organizational skills, very proficient computer skills, ability to keep a smile on your face and in your voice when major donors, or anyone for that matter, are rude or insufferable.

Be prepared to understand that you are the peon, not the boss. And again, the smile on your face and in your voice. Be prepared to multi-task.
