I plan and implement individual education plans for middle schoolers with moderate to severe disabilities. I teach, feed, toilet my students. I also have 5 paraprofessionals who help within my classroom. My student caseload for this year was 10 students.

3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours? |

If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
That person would need to go to college and get a degree in Education and a Master's in Special Education.

skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
Patience, sense of humor as cleaning up poop just isn't a fun task, empathy for what the family and student are living, strong stomach need I say poop again, multitasker I may be teaching when a student has a seizure

What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Think long and hard about entering the educational field as the expectations have quadrupled and the pay is not where it should be for the stress that we are under I love what I do, but had I known what state this field would be in, I would have rethought my career choose.
