I order the grocery items for the store. I oversee the employees that work on the sales floor. If we're out of an item its up yo me to find out why. At least once a shift I run a cash register when the check out lines get long. I assist customers in finding what they want or have a problem.

Every work day I am on the sales floor working with the other employees. And available to the customers if they need me. I love my job. The only thing I dislike some days are the difficult customers. Or when the employees aren't doing what they are supposed to do.

My work location is a big store. Its big, bright, it feels like home. It is clean and well stocked. I feel comfortable every time I'm there.

3. How should someone new to the workforce get a J-O-B like yours?

  If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?

At our company you start on the ground floor. You apply on computers now. When hired , do the work you're supposed to do. Have good attendence, a good attitude, and work well with others. If later on you want to do another job, theres always chances for promotions.

  What skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social skills, organization skills, technical skills)

Your working with the public, so social skills for sure. An eye for detail is always valued. Being able to know and or learn what needs to be done and getting it done. Techincal skills aren't necessary, just common sense is.

  Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?

I only have a high school degree. But I was trained by older employees, which has served me well.

  What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?

Be a people person. Be helpful. Work hard. Be flexible.
