I currently work for the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA. IDFA is based in Washington, DC, and represents the nation's dairy manufacturing and marketing industries and their suppliers, with a membership of 530 companies representing a $90-billion a year industry. IDFA is composed of three constituent organizations: the Milk Industry Foundation (MIF), the National Cheese Institute (NCI) and the International Ice Cream Association (IICA). IDFA's 220 dairy processing members run more than 600 plant operations, and range from large multi-national organizations to single-plant companies. Together they represent more than 85% of the milk, cultured products, cheese and frozen desserts produced and marketed in the United States. Currently there are approximately 50 employees in my office.

If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
complete undergradute work, and remember that the gpa isn't everything. the ability to have a positive attitude and a "can-do" outlook is extremely important. additionally, have knowledge about politics and keeping abreast of the economy to converse intelligently.

skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
social skills: ability to float over gossip w/o coming off as standoffish. the ability to converse with others at work about current events. organization skills: are extremely important. keep things well organized so you know where to find them. write down lists, keep track. technical: a full working knowledge of excel (ranked 1), word (2), outlook (3) and powerpoint (4).
