They should start out as an intern or as a casting assistant at a casting or production company or network.

Being very flexible as each project is different. You are constantly working with different producers who have different personalities and like different things. Each show has different requirements of what I have to find or cast for.

it is important to find out exactly what the director/producers are looking for and to try as hard as you can to find the right people for the project.
