If someone wanted to go about getting a job similar to yours, what would you recommend for him or her to do?
It takes a certain person to do the job that I do. They need to be very focused and unemotional.

skills do you think a person should have if they want to pursue a
position like yours? Please be specific and explain why (e.g., social
skills, organization skills, technical skills)
You need every skill I can think of to do the job. Organization of the units/ ambulances, soacial skills for communication with venders, other employees ect, technically skills with computers to enter data, utilize radios, nextels ect.

Do you feel that you need a certain level of education or training to be successful in your job?
YES! There are classes you need to take in order to certify you in EMD training for 911 call taking.

What advice would you give to someone who was about to start work in your position/ line of work?
Take as many classes as you can and make sure you ask a lot of questions during the training period. Make sure you try to remain as stress free as possible on your times off of work.
