Actively participate with study sponsors in the monitoring of research studies. Attends/participates in committee and other meetings pertinent to the research pharmacy. Maintains confidentiality of all information related to research patients, medical staff, sponsors.

Using SAS analytics software, I perform quality control checks, create case control cohorts for studies and write macros to improve coding infrastructure.

As a graduate assistant, I work in a biomedical research laboratory. I attend some classes as a graduate student, but I am employed by my department, where I am required to work at least 40 hours per week. The research is focused on genomic instability aspects of cancer, and we use zebrafish as a model (using humans would be quite unethical). I manage several large research databases to ensure the quality and completeness of study data. I monitor incoming data transmissions from laboratories and clinical research sites, work with laboratory and clinical site staff to resolve discrepancies in the data, and edit data in preparation for statistical analysis. I also work with laboratories to set up the framework for secure data transmission to the coordinating center and serve as a beta tester for internal data monitoring software.
