My major responsiblities involve project management of books we are signing and producing. I also travel 5-6 times a year to conference where I sell the books and network. Author correspondence is a big part of my daily job.

Basically, I generate sales reports, assist in marketing promotions, act as the liason between customers and upper marketing, manage a small sales staff, and manage rep commissions.

I spend much of my time reading manuscript and writing reports to clients. I track the projects of specific US literary agents and publishers and relay pertinent information to our clients. I also organize our office for several major book fairs each year and create our clients schedules based on whom in US publishing they should meet with.

Managing team of 20 individuals, in addition to reading manuscripts and decide which ones will be made into books.

I manage 12 employees, 10 full time, and 2 part time. I insure the workload is evenly divided. I program Special Offers or Promos that the Marketing/Publicity depts create to increase sales. I inform Executive Management of the IT needs of the dept. I regularly meet with my dept to assess needs.

I basically sit at a computer and write for about 9 hours straight.

I do research for local writers looking for data to write their stories and columns. For example, if a writer is looking for data on the birth rate in Collier county I look up all relevant data and either fax or email it over. I also will check the final work for accuracy. This can be tedious but it's fun too!

Whether I'm working on a Marketing project or an instructional or training project, my responsibilities include: Assessing project goals, Identifying best media to meet goals, Writing project Treatment -- or a description of how I will present the content, Developing a delivery schedule, Interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)& reviewing any content sources, Writing a script or Copy, Working with Designers or other creative professionals to develop "comps," or rough ideas of how we will design the project, Gaining client approval for a design comp, Completing the project and gaining client approval.

I am expected to write search-engine optimized articles on various subjects for my clients. These topics are mostly health-related, but can be lifestyle-related or work-related as well.
